Nairobi's competitive matatu [bus] sector has spurred a culture of art and music to attract passengers. It is a heavily man-dominated industry, and women working in the sector face discrimination from drivers, conductors and passengers alike. But that is not stopping them from realizing their career goals. Women interviewed in this story spoke of their hardships but advocated for more women entering the sector so that they can support one another and change the behaviours and mindsets in the industry.
